Leo's Den is a 64 capacity nursery school close just off Great Dover Street and within walking distance of London Bridge and Borough stations. The nursery has been open for 14 years and has 4 classroom areas and 2 gardens/terraces over 3 floors.
At our OFSTED inspection we received a "Good in all Areas" with excellent comments, and as we are almost full, we are looking for an additional qualified Nursery Teacher / Nursery Practitioner and/or Nursery Apprentice to strengthen our staffing team.
As a Nursery Practitioner / Apprentice you will be responsible for the following:
- looking after the children in a happy, warm environment
- planning daily and weekly activities, and setting up those activities
- doing child observations and recording their progress on the Famly app.
- understanding and implementing the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework.
- undertaking nappy changes and keeping the children clean and hygienic
- assisting with the meal and snack service to the children
- helping with the general cleanliness of the rooms
As a Nursery Teacher / Nursery Practitioner / Nursery Apprentice within our nursery, you will have the resources that you need to offer a varied and fun range of activities for the children, and we utilise the Famly teacher support system for you to post observations, photos and videos of those activities.
We very much believe in the development of our staff and have a constant programme of training to ensure that your skills are developed and up to date, and promotion from within is a regular occurrence for those wanting a career in early years education.
We are open from 7.30am to 6.45pm, Monday to Friday, and we are ideally looking for full time candidates or those who are able to do a minimum of two full 6-8 hour shifts within those hours.
Ideally you will have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare, but we are also looking to recruit an additional apprentice who wants a career in early years. This is to join our ongoing training and qualification programme that we have had for the last 5 years, and you can take either a Level 2 or Level 3 early years qualification during your apprenticeship depending on your age and qualifications. Apprenticeship pay rates will apply.
