Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and child development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment where children can thrive and learn. The Deputy Manager will work closely with the management team to ensure high standards of care, safety, and educational quality are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery or childcare facility
- Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
- Lead and motivate team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Contribute to the planning and organisation of educational activities tailored to children's developmental needs
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Support recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members
- Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, scheduling, and reporting
- Drive company vehicles when necessary for errands or staff transportation
Experience
- Proven management experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support team members
- Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare settings
- Knowledge of nursery practices, child development stages, and relevant regulations
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Valid driving licence with experience driving suitable vehicles for organisational needs
- Previous experience working with children with special needs or additional requirements is desirable but not essential

Pay: £26,824.00-£28,142.00 per year
