About the Role

Join our dynamic team as an Indirect Tax and Customs Manager, where you'll lead the delivery of all indirect tax and customs compliance across Britvic's operations in the UK, Ireland, and The Netherlands. This exciting opportunity allows you to drive process improvements, provide expert tax advice, and support business growth while managing a team of tax professionals. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring tax compliance while identifying opportunities for efficiency and optimization.

Role Responsibilities
    • Manage and review all indirect tax returns (VAT, SDIL, Plastic Packaging Tax) across GB, Ireland, and the Netherlands, ensuring accuracy and compliance before submission
    • Lead process and control improvements across indirect tax operations to enhance efficiency and minimize compliance risks
    • Provide expert guidance, training, and advisory support on all indirect tax matters to finance teams and business stakeholders
    • Forecast tax liabilities and support cash flow management related to indirect taxes across all territories
    • Manage the Customs Analyst in the review of customs data, MSS data and commodity codes
    • Lead and champion process and control improvements across Indirect tax and Customs processes across GB and Ireland
    • Lead a team of three indirect tax analysts, managing their performance and professional development
    • Provide guidance, training and advice on all Indirect Tax and Customs matters and projects across all Finance Teams. Be the Customs advisor in ad hoc project
    • Support the Head of Indirect Tax on key projects and specialized advisory work
    Experience and Key Attributes
  • Strong understanding of relevant indirect taxes including VAT, SDIL, and Plastic Packaging Tax and customs
  • ATT, CTA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Customs qualification is an advantage.
  • Proven experience (5 years+) in working in indirect tax and customs
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and data
  • Excellent project management capabilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office (SAP experience is highly desirable)
  • BPC, SAP-BW, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-finance colleagues
  • Experience in process improvement and implementing effective tax controls
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues proactively and develop practical solutions
