Job Description

Join us at Legal & General as an Indirect Tax Manager supporting our Public Markets business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, where your expertise in indirect tax will help shape the future of our investment operations. What you'll be doing:

• Acting as the key indirect tax contact for the public markets business
• Advising on VAT implications of trading activity, product structures and operational changes
• Supporting new product launches and cross-border investments from a tax perspective
• Partnering with Finance, Legal and Operations to implement tax-efficient solutions
• Reviewing service agreements and supplier contracts for VAT considerations
• Overseeing preparation and submission of UK VAT returns and related filings
• Managing partial exemption methodologies and annual adjustments
• Identifying opportunities to improve VAT compliance and support automation initiatives

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

• ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong academic background
• Proven experience in UK VAT and awareness of EU/international indirect tax issues
• Familiarity with investment management services and cross-border financial supplies
• Ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-tax professionals
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external advisors
• Experience in a professional services firm or in-house tax team at Manager level
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across varied audiences
