Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce precise components and assemblies. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality fabrication projects. The Laser Operator will utilise their mechanical knowledge and technical skills to ensure efficient and accurate production processes, supporting the organisation's commitment to excellence in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate laser cutting machinery in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to determine cutting parameters.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laser equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Handle sheet metal materials, ensuring proper positioning and securing for cutting operations.
  • Utilise hand tools, tooling, and grinding equipment as needed for finishing or assembly tasks.
  • Conduct quality inspections on finished parts, verifying dimensions and tolerances using basic math skills.
  • Assist with fabrication processes such as welding, grinding, or assembly when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or related manufacturing roles is desirable.
  • Knowledge of welding, grinding, and mechanical processes is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, tooling, and basic measurement techniques.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and basic maths for precise measurements.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience operating laser cutting machinery is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely following health and safety protocols at all times. Early Finish Fridays 6am-3pm Mon- Thurs. 6am-10am Friday.

Full Training on our specific brand of laser will be given however experience of laser cutting is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
