Are you a backend engineer passionate about working with a very senior and skilled team that empowers other teams of software and API integration engineers?

We're seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (PHP) to join our Connector Platform Team. The Connectors Platform team, within the Data Integration Group, is responsible for the core components and the Codeless Connector framework that powers Supermetrics' ability to seamlessly connect to hundreds of data sources. This team allows to streamline API integration development by abstracting away the complexities of coding, enabling users to connect different applications and services without writing code.

Some examples of what you'll help us create:

Low-code and no-code solutions: Help us build new and extend our existing foundations, powering low-code solutions that can be used to create connections to multiple data sources in no time or create the next core component that can be used to power a UI of a new or existing no-code application.

Modernisation: Optimise our current architecture towards a service-oriented one, prioritising modular design, performance, and code quality following SOLID, cloud native, and good design principles.

Enabling other teams: From rest api to data lakes: you will be part of the foundational team that builds and supports Supermetrics capabilities in connecting and moving data as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Your day-to-day work and responsibilities will include:

  • Development of new features and functionalities for our customers
  • Close collaboration and interaction with other teams 
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards.
  • Support and share knowledge with your colleagues.
  • Improving systems monitoring and alerting
  • Utilizing existing monitoring tools to ensure system stability

 This role is for you if you have:

  • 6+ years of back-end experience (PHP) in a production environment, preferably building a SaaS product.
  • Experience working with API integrations
  • Experience in building software for no-code solutions 
  • Ability to conduct unit testing, integration testing, contract and end-to-end testing 
  • Strong understanding of architecture & software design
  • Strong grasp of the software testing discipline
  • Understanding of security best practices
  • Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English is a must
  • Ability to give effective feedback
  • Ability and willingness to work with AI

 Nice to have skills: 

  • Understanding of monitoring tools and ability to interpret monitoring data. This includes tools such as Datadog, OpenSearch, Grafana, etc., which are used to track application performance and system metrics.
