An expanding trading firm are offering the opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect who will work closely with the CTO to shape, define, and deliver the company's future technology landscape. This is a pivotal hire for a business embarking on a significant digital transformation, and they are seeking someone who can bring strategic clarity, architectural rigour, and deep trading-sector expertise.

The Role

As Enterprise Architect, you will take ownership of understanding the firm's full suite of applications across Front, Middle, and Back Office. Your remit will be to assess how these systems fit together, identify opportunities for optimisation, and set the strategic direction for how technology is adopted and utilised across the organisation.

You will act as a senior advisor to the CTO, ensuring all architectural decisions support the firm's broader commercial strategy. This includes shaping roadmaps, modernising legacy areas, and guiding application teams as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map, analyse, and rationalise the organisation's application landscape across trading, risk, operations, finance, and analytics.
  • Develop and own the enterprise architecture strategy and associated roadmaps.
  • Provide architectural governance and guidance to application teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Drive alignment between technology adoption and the company's business strategy.
  • Support the planning and execution of digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and appropriate for a high-performance trading environment.
  • Partner with the CTO to influence long-term technology investment decisions.

Experience Required

  • Prior experience as an Enterprise Architect within a physical trading environment is essential – ideally with exposure to crude or refined products.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end Front-to-Back processes in a commodity trading firm.
  • Proven ability to develop architectural strategies in fast-paced, commercially driven organisations.
  • Hands-on familiarity with a broad range of trading applications such as pricing tools, ETRMs/CTRM systems, risk platforms, and bespoke in-house tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic approach to delivery.

This is a hybrid position in Central London 3d/w with a salary around £120k but for the right candidate has flexibility up to £140k. Along with this it has broad range of benefits including discretionary bonus, healthcare, pension, and more.
