Solutions Architect: Enterprise Fintech Platform - Permanent - London (2 days a week) £100 - 120k per annumA leading, high-growth Fintech company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Solutions Architect to define the technical vision and drive engineering excellence for their mission-critical enterprise platform. They are targeting significant revenue growth over the next four years, and this role is central to scaling their technology and capabilitiesKey Focus Areas & ResponsibilitiesThis role requires a blend of technical mastery, leadership, and execution in a high-stakes financial services environment.Architectural Leadership: Define and own the technical roadmap, architectural patterns, and standards for a complex, distributed platform.Distributed Systems Design: Drive the design of high-scale, resilient, and fault-tolerant cloud-native solutions, including HA/DR strategies.Engineering Excellence: Set and maintain engineering standards, manage technical debt proactively, and drive continuous improvement across code quality and delivery.Technical Team Management: Lead and mentor technical teams (internal and external), ensuring delivery velocity and consistent quality.Client Engagement: Articulate complex technical decisions to both engineers and clients .Required Technical MasteryWe are looking for an individual with a proven track record of 10+ years in senior technical leadership roles.Experience: 10+ years in senior technical leadership roles, with proven track record leading enterprise-grade solution design and delivery.Architecture: Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.High Availability: Mastery of HA/DR patterns, fault tolerance, and resilience engineering for mission-critical systems.Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with major public cloud architecture (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP), including PaaS, IaaS, and serverless solutions.Fintech Domain: Understanding of financial services technology requirements: API design, data security, transaction integrity, and audit trails.Pragmatism: Ability to balance intentional architecture with pragmatic delivery, knowing when to build vs. buy.We seek a leader who earns respect through technical credibility and raises the bar relentlessly.
