An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced International Tax Director to join a growing advisory practice. The position involves leading complex cross-border tax projects for global clients, providing strategic guidance on international tax planning, compliance, and structuring. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership in client engagement and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad portfolio of multinational clients, overseeing all aspects of international tax advisory projects.
  • Deliver guidance on global tax structuring, including permanent establishment considerations, tax-efficient supply chains, withholding taxes, profit repatriation, and corporate residence issues.
  • Advise on tax aspects of international growth, mergers and acquisitions, group restructurings, and joint ventures.
  • Partner with transfer pricing specialists and legal teams to design and implement coordinated global strategies.
  • Support clients with entity simplification projects and internal reorganisation initiatives.
  • Lead and review due diligence assignments, identifying key tax exposures and providing clear recommendations.
  • Offer end-to-end support through each stage of transactions, from initial planning and deal structuring to completion and post-acquisition integration.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by providing clear, commercially focused advice and consistent delivery.
  • Play an active role in developing new client opportunities, contributing to proposals, and representing the firm in market-facing activities.
  • Guide and mentor junior professionals, supporting their technical and professional growth within the international tax team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CTA, or equivalent.
  • At least ten years of international tax experience gained within a professional services or advisory setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK and international tax frameworks, including OECD and EU developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, technically complex assignments across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and project management capability, with a proven track record in client delivery.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working across different service lines within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
