Job Description

We are seeking a
Senior Site Reliability Engineer
to join Barclaycard's technology team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical systems. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a proactive mindset to drive adoption of SRE methodologies and automation best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize
    automation frameworks
    ,
    observability tools

    incident response mechanisms
    to improve system reliability.
  • Manage and troubleshoot
    incidents
    , perform
    root cause analysis
    , and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrences.
  • Collaborate with
    development
    ,
    infrastructure

    product teams
    to integrate
    SRE best practices
    into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Develop tools and scripts for
    system automation
    ,
    performance optimization
    , and
    capacity planning
    .
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to drive adoption of new
    SRE methodologies
    , fostering a culture of reliability and innovation.
  • Stay updated on emerging
    cloud
    ,
    DevOps
    , and
    automation technologies
    to enhance system performance and resilience.
