The team
Schroders is implementing an ambitious transformation journey to profitable growth and technology plays a significant role in the realisation of this vision. The Global Technology (GT) Transformation, Change and Governance (TCG) team is at the heart of this, orchestrating across GT to deliver the target operating model and ensure the strategy and delivery portfolio is aligned with the overall Group strategy and priorities. TCG spans three core areas – Technology Portfolio & Planning, Technology Vendor Oversight and Technology Business Management.

The Portfolio & Planning team is embedded across GT's domains and partners with Domain Delivery Heads and their teams to oversee portfolio delivery, optimise demand vs capacity and sequencing and, ultimately, drive delivery of the portfolio to realise stated benefits.

The Vendor Oversight team is responsible for GT's Vendor Management and Oversight framework, building productive partnerships to derive value, compliance, cost control and risk mitigation across all GT's third-party suppliers.

The Business Management team is responsible for oversight across GT's financial and resource budgets, ensuring delivery remains within targets and adheres to relevant policies and strategic guidance.

What You Will Do
The GT Portfolio Manager sits within GT's Portfolio and Planning P&P) team and is responsible for driving a Portfolio and Planning capability for GT that provides consistent delivery governance and standards to oversee delivery execution and optimisation of GT's delivery portfolio. This role requires someone with leadership qualities and a strong background in strategic planning and portfolio management, with an ability to collaborate across GT's leadership team to help orchestrate a complex and dynamic portfolio with an array of stakeholders.

Responsibilities Of The Role

• Be a key part of a Portfolio and Planning capability for GT that provides consistent delivery governance and standards to oversee delivery execution and optimisation of GT's delivery portfolio, in line with business goals and priorities.
• Facilitate a robust delivery governance framework for GT, ensuring consistency of process, format and standards and compliance with relevant policies. This framework drives delivery interlock across GT, ensuring GT's efforts are coordinated, efficient and delivering value.
• Establish and execute an effective demand management and prioritisation framework for the in-take of business and technology sponsored change, curating a prioritized backlog process.
• Maintain an integrated, rolling 6-quarter delivery roadmap for technology-related transformation and change initiatives that enables proactive management of dependencies, sequencing and portfolio risk and change control.
• Manage and optimize processes around the allocation of GT transformation and change resource capacity to demand and support what-if modelling and early warning signals of resource constraints.
• Implement data-driven reporting and metrics capability to measure portfolio health/performance and aid proactive delivery governance decision-making.
• Interface into broader Schroders' with Group Planning & Transformation Office (GPTO) and Business Change teams to ensure alignment with GPTO standards and governance.

The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need

• Proven track record of successfully leading the management and/or delivery of complex portfolios / programmes of change through geographically dispersed, multi-source teams.
• Proven experience in defining and establishing effective delivery governance frameworks, processes, tools and data-driven reporting in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and engage senior team members.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
• Proficiency with reporting tools and dashboarding (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel)
• A strong understanding of financial management – experience with budgeting & forecasting; confident with concepts of cash, P&L, capitalisation and accruals; ability to analyse and present financial reports
