Bodyshop panel beater

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Panel Beater to join our busy bodyshop. As a Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle panels. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair. The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical knowledge and the ability to read and interpret schematics.
Responsibilities:
- Assessing vehicle damage and determining repair requirements
- Removing damaged panels and parts
- Recognising and documenting an additional work required
- Repairing or replacing damaged panels using appropriate tools and techniques
- Welding and assembling new panels
- Straightening bent frames and panels
- Filling, sanding, and priming repaired surfaces
- Ensuring all repairs meet quality standards
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater or similar role
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems
