Job Summary
We are seeking a detail oriented Client Accounts & Royalties Administrator to join our London office. This key finance role involves managing all financial transactions related to client accounts, including royalty processing, advances and foreign payments. You will collaborate closely with agents, authors, publishers, and internal teams to ensure all transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant with contractual and accounting rules across multiple counties.
This hybrid role, combines in-person collaboration with flexible working, supporting both productivity and work-life balance. You will take ownership of royalties and author payments, develop expertise in international client accounting and work in a creative, book-focused environment.

Responsibilities
- Process royalties, advances, translation income, and unearned statements using Bradbury Phillips (BP)
- Verify statements against contracts to ensure correct rates, currencies, and contractual terms
- Investigate and allocate unidentified cash receipts, ensuring proper reconciliation
- Process author payments in GBP, EUR, and USD via bank transfer
- Prepare royalty reports and account summaries for authors and agents
- Respond to queries from authors, agents, and internal teams regarding royalty and account statements
- Maintain multi-currency cashbooks and perform regular reconciliations
- Liaise with authors, agents, publishers, and the Foreign Rights department on outstanding payments
- Maintain accurate client records and support general accounting tasks
- Assist with ad hoc finance and administrative duties
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in royalty accounting, financial administration, or analysis within publishing, literary agencies, or a related sector
- Degree-educated in Accounting, Finance, Publishing, or another relevant field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of author contracts, royalty calculations, and publishing revenue streams
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Bradbury Phillips preferred or other accounting software
- Excellent numeracy and attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in all financial processes
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Collaborative approach to working with colleagues, authors, agents, and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Genuine passion for books, authors, and the publishing industry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
