Purpose of the Role
To deliver an accurate, efficient, and high-quality payroll and Auto Enrolment service to a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional client care. MUST have experience of client payroll either via a payroll bureau or for a chartered accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client payrolls, delivering end-to-end payroll and Auto Enrolment services.
- Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with legislative and compliance deadlines.
- Collect and manage payroll information in the most efficient and timely manner.
- Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and pension providers to resolve payroll and Auto Enrolment queries.
- Oversee the submission of client payroll data via BACS.
- Ensure Auto Enrolment pension schemes are fully compliant and accurately administered.
- Support and mentor junior team members to ensure best practice and professional development.
Skills and Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of payroll and Auto Enrolment legislation.
- Previous experience within a busy payroll environment or payroll bureau.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Confident communicator, able to build positive relationships with clients and HMRC.
- Proactive problem-solver with a calm and methodical approach.
- Able to work independently while adhering to departmental processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Positive "can-do" attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
