Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Moving & Handling Services
Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Pay Rate: £34 per hour

Job Description:

Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for its client's Moving & Handling Services Team in Blackburn with Darwen. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Moving & Handling Services Team at Blackburn with Darwen Council on a locum basis. This is a vital role, delivering community-based assessments and interventions to support individuals requiring moving and handling assistance, while promoting independence, safety, and well-being.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Conduct community assessments within a local authority setting, identifying needs and recommending equipment solutions
  • Perform comprehensive moving and handling assessments, ensuring safe practices and compliance with guidelines
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and professionals to create tailored support plans for safe mobility
  • Assess and demonstrate single-handed solutions to meet handling needs in community settings
  • Maintain accurate records in line with professional and legal standards
  • Provide demonstrations and training to care providers on safe moving and handling practices and equipment use

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • HCPC Registration and relevant Occupational Therapy qualifications
  • Experience within a local authority setting
  • Proficiency in moving and handling assessments
  • Strong knowledge of equipment provision and home adaptations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
