Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing environment for children. As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and stimulating setting. The role is to support the room covering the staff lunch breaks between the hours of 10am-3pm Monday to Friday all year round. This is not a term time only position. If you would also like to complete your childcare qualification you can also do this alongside the role.
Duties
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children's development in line with early years frameworks.
- Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional support throughout the day.
- Engage with children through play, encouraging their social skills, creativity, and independence.
- Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, including tidying up after activities, meal times and ensuring all equipment is safe for use.
- Observe and record children's development, reporting any concerns to senior staff as appropriate.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A genuine drive to support children's growth and development within a nursery setting is crucial.
