Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to follow care plans effectively. This role is essential in ensuring that our service users receive the support they need to maintain their independence and well-being.
The Health Care Assistant position is 36 hours per week, working on a flexible rota system, this post includes weekend shifts.
Duties
- Provide person centred care that is resident focused and specific to the individual.
- Ensure care is provided as detailed in care plan
- To assist with all aspects of personal care such as, bathing/ showering, nutrition and hydration and emotional wellbeing
- Monitor and report changes in individual's health conditions to the relevant personal
- To manage and administer medication and creams
- To adhere to all policies and procedures
- To report any complaints or raise any safeguarding's
- To attend hospital appointments and outings if required
- To assist the catering team to provide excellent nutrition and hydration
- To actively encourage residents to participate in activities happening within the home
- Communicate effectively with individual's, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to care.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality care and support
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £12.30 per hour
