Iver, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom National Grid Full time £49,500 - £60,000 per year

About The Role
Great Britain's electricity infrastructure is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.

We have several new Project Supervisor roles available for various projects around London and Didcot. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing the electricity network so that we can connect and transport more renewable and low carbon energy to our homes and businesses, to enable the UK to meet its climate, energy security commitments and net zero target.

As part of our Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team, you'll be National Grid's representative working on projects, which includes development and delivery works associated with new Substations and refurbishments and other associated works within the ID portfolio.

Essentially, you'll ensure all site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors are efficiently managed in accordance with National Grid policies and procedures. You'll administer the duties of 'Client representative' with a keen eye on safety, environmental, sustainability and the quality of the installation.

You'll support NG site teams to ensure CDM regs are met, provide support when ordering plant and equipment, undertake regular safety audits/walks and hold coordination meetings with all parties on site during project delivery. In addition, you'll complete 'Site Visit Reports' or facilitate site visits with designers.

These roles are based out of various London sites, as well as Didcot, so you would need to be commutable around these areas. The roles are predominantly site based and you can expect to travel to sites and offices on a regular basis.

What You'll Need

  • Project Management skills, including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of electricity substations, and project site management.
  • Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices, and CDM regs and quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
  • Client Representative experience.
  • Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
  • SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Full driving licence.

What's in it for you?

  • A competitive starting salary from £49,500 pa + Benefits + Company Vehicle plus London allowance for London based projects.
  • 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
  • The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
  • Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. Overall 18%.
  • Financial support to help cover the cost of professional membership subscriptions, course fees, books, exam fees and time off for study leave — relevant to your role.
  • Access to flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
  • Family care benefits including a back-up care service for when your usual care arrangements fall through (six paid days each year as standard with the option to purchase further days).
  • Access to apps which support health, fitness and wellbeing.
