Here in the newly expanded NFU Mutual Ilminster agency, we're looking for an ambitious professional with a proven commercial sales background to join the existing leadership team as a Partner, heading up the agency's Commercial Insurance business.

With the support of highly experienced Partners and agency staff, you'll help steer a £multi-million Financial Services business to new heights, continuing the agency's successful growth trajectory.
As a Partner and Head of Commercial Insurance for the NFU Mutual Ilminster agency, your focus will be on:
Building and nurturing existing Commercial client relationships with key decision makers, ensuring high renewal rates are maintained with unrivalled customer care.
Delivering new business growth across an expanding range of Commercial Lines products, targeting SMEs and Mid-Corporates in key commercial sectors.
Supporting with the overall agency management, from business planning to driving commercial performance.
Playing a supportive role in the local farming community as a representative of the NFU, including hands-on support for NFU farming members, organising events, and local county shows.
This is a self-employed business opportunity for an experienced Commercial / Corporate Sales professional showing clear aspirations and true potential to step into leadership. Specifically, we're looking for:
A B2B (SME/Mid-Corp/Commercial) sales professional with consultative sales, business development and key account management experience, preferably in a regulated sector.
Strong commercial acumen with credibility to operate in the boardroom, advising Business Owners and senior decision makers across a diverse range of sectors.
Leadership potential and attitude are key; ambition, accountability, good work ethic, and a growth mindset to develop into a high-performing strategic business leader.
Personal interest or connection with the farming community or rural life, as you'll have hands-on duties for the NFU as Group Secretary responsible for the Yeovil patch (see below).

As NFU Group Secretary responsible for the Yeovil patch you'll be at the heart of your local farming community. You'll champion the interests of local farmers, arrange local meetings and events, recruit and retain members and keep them up-to-date on agricultural policy. With full backing from the NFU, you'll have access to expert advice and specialist support on everything from policy and increasing membership to marketing and media.
