Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Dental Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional patient care, and maintaining efficient practice workflows. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to a thriving dental practice.

Duties

  • Supervise and lead the dental team, including reception staff, dental nurses, and hygienists, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Oversee the scheduling of appointments to optimise patient flow and minimise wait times
  • Manage financial aspects of the practice, including budgeting, billing, and invoicing
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety
  • Handle human resources responsibilities such as recruitment, training, performance reviews, and staff development programmes
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information and practice activities in accordance with data protection laws
  • Liaise with external suppliers and service providers to ensure smooth operation of equipment and supplies
  • Implement marketing strategies to attract new patients whilst retaining existing ones

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience within a dental environment is essential
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Sound financial management abilities including budgeting and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of human resources practices relevant to staff recruitment, development, and retention
  • Experience in managing practice operations or business administration is preferred
  • Familiarity with dental practice procedures
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach towards clients and team members
  • Experience in CQC inspections is essential
  • Experience in practice conversions to private practice preferable

This role requires a proactive individual committed to delivering outstanding service while ensuring the smooth running of the practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities combined with strong organisational capabilities to support our mission of providing excellent dental care. This is not a supervised post and training is not available.
