Mitcham, Greater London, United Kingdom Jigsaw4u Full time £30,000 - £40,000 per year

Jigsaw4u is a community charity in South West London that supports children, young people and families to put the pieces back together following complex social and emotional difficulties.

What difference will you make?

We're looking for passionate and committed individuals who believe in the work that we do, and who want to play a part in our future strategic development. You do not need to have been a Trustee before or have previous Board experience.

We need people who are willing to devote the necessary time and effort to support the work of Jigsaw4u, that have an ability to think creatively and are happy to provide views. We are very lucky to have a Board of varied backgrounds, experience and skill sets and we are looking to add further skill sets and replace those of Trustees who leave when their terms come to an end. It is important that individuals have an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liability of being a Trustee (we can provide further information on those duties and responsibilities).

What will you be doing?

Being a Trustee of Jigsaw4u is an exciting and fulfilling role. Our Board benefits from individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets. Their role is to ensure that Jigsaw4u fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries and delivers on our vision, impact, goals and values.

The Board meets five times a year as well as an annual away day and ad-hoc meetings when necessary. Individual Trustees also often take responsibility for specific aspects of Board and organisational priorities.

We particularly welcome applications from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds in order to reflect the diverse nature of our beneficiaries. The young people we work with come from a broad range of backgrounds, including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, young people with mental or physical disabilities, or those experiencing complex issues and low levels of agency.

To best support all the people we work with, our Trustees need to come from a wide range of ages and backgrounds themselves.

The purpose
The Board of Trustees are jointly responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, its financial health, the probity of its activities and developing the organisation's aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.

All Trustees should also be aware of, and understand their individual and collective responsibilities, and the Board should not be overly reliant on one or more individual Trustees in any particular aspect of the governance of the charity.

Our Trustees perform a vital and fulfilling role, ensuring that Jigsaw4u fulfils its duty to its beneficiaries and delivers on our vision, impact, goals and values.
