At Hobbsons, we serve Best of British food with an emphasis on pies, all of which we make entirely on the premises. This is a great opportunity to prepare and cook fresh food, from pies to puddings to sausage rolls.

Established as a pie shop since 1987, Hobbsons, formerly Browns, has built an excellent reputation within Lincoln and beyond, with diners expecting great food, great service and a warm atmosphere. As a part of our kitchen team, you will be expected to consistently uphold our high standards and deliver food that you can be proud of to our guests.

Here at Hobbsons, our brand is very much tongue-in-cheek, so a sense of humour is a must, along with a bright personality. We're looking for a Chef with a bubbly personality to add flavour, flair and fun to everything we do. If this sounds like you, we might well be cooking on gas.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The ideal candidate for this position will have a keen interest in cooking and preparing food from scratch, must be able to work as part of a team and be able to follow instructions. Enthusiasm, professionalism and, maybe most importantly, common sense, are a must to work at Hobbsons. And if you like dogs, then even better.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Have proof of right to work in the UK

  • Have a UK bank account in your own name

  • Be able to converse in English

  • Have a fixed place of residence within a reasonable travelling distance of your main workplace

RESPONSIBLE TO

  • General Manager

  • Kitchen Manager

  • In the absence of the GM and KM, your Chef de Partie.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but not limited to:

  • To represent the company's high standards of personal presentation and behaviour at all times during a shift

  • To report for duty, punctually, wearing the correct uniform

  • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures at all times

  • Prepare, cook present and serve food quickly and efficiently meeting our high standards

  • Work safely around the kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the Kitchen Manager

  • To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained to meet hygiene regulations by following cleaning routines and on-going diligence during the shift and in set up and close-down procedures

  • If not already learned, to obtain a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law regarding the following company regulations; Health & Safety Regulations, Food Handling & Hygiene Laws, Fire Regulations and Procedures, First Aid Procedures

  • To bring a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the restaurant and interacting productively with the other departments of the restaurant

  • To carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested by the management team
