Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food and beverage service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards of food safety and service quality. The Duty Manager will play a vital role in supervising staff, coordinating operations, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Duties

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant or hotel during shifts, ensuring excellent service delivery.
  • Supervise and support team members, including front-of-house staff, kitchen personnel, and baristas, fostering a positive working environment.
  • Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the establishment.
  • Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and service schedules to optimise efficiency.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies; assist with ordering as necessary.
  • Enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular checks to maintain compliance.
  • Assist in training new staff members in service procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Support the management team in implementing promotional activities or special events.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, with strong supervisory skills.
  • Background in food preparation, cooking, or culinary arts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in food safety standards and food production processes.
  • Previous roles involving team management or supervising staff within a hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving practices and hospitality standards.
  • Strong leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Good communication skills with a professional demeanour.
  • Relevant experience in hotel or barista roles is advantageous but not essential. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences while demonstrating strong leadership capabilities within a dynamic environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
