We're looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 3 or above) to join our warm and welcoming team at The Wendy House Day Nursery on a Part-time basis 20-30 hours a week

The Wendy House is a privately run nursery that offers a homely, nurturing environment with a family feel. Our team of friendly, qualified staff are passionate about providing exceptional early years care and education.

We are proud to be rated 'Good' in our most recent Ofsted inspection and are equipped with stimulating resources and a child-focused approach that supports learning and development at every stage.

  • Open Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 6:00pm
  • Open 50 weeks per year

Closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks over Christmas

Key Responsibilities

As a Nursery Practitioner, your role will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of your room and planned children's activities for them to achieve their next steps in their development.
  • Engaging and playing with the children to support their emotional and developmental needs.
  • Planning and delivering fun, engaging activities that cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Monitoring the development of your key children, tracking progress, and contributing to their online learning journals .
  • Maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and hygiene at all times.
  • Being a positive role model, encouraging children's learning, confidence, and independence.
  • Supporting the cleaning and organisation of resources and equipment alongside your team.

Adhering to nursery policies, procedures, legislation, and Ofsted requirements

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold a Level 3 or above qualification in childcare (essential)
  • Be enthusiastic, caring, and patient
  • Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
  • Have a child-centred approach with a passion for early years education

And just as importantly, you must be someone who:

  • Has a 'Mary Poppins' spirit – cheerful, warm, and full of positivity
  • Is happy to join in with imaginative play, from endless cups of pretend tea to getting your hair styled in the role-play salon
  • Can sing your way through the day (tune optional)
  • Can bring stories to life with enthusiasm and expression
  • Can laugh, smile, and help make the nursery a fun and magical place every day
