Sports ground contractor

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable sports grounds Contractor to undertake a variety of tractor and machinery based tasks. The ideal candidate will possess experience in sports ground maintenance, or sports ground contracting. This role involves working on diverse projects across many sports and facilities. Experience with tractor driving and basic upkeep of the associated equipment is necessary. The Contractor will contribute to maintaining and enhancing sports facilities, ensuring they are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and safe.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance work to a very high standard with an eye for detail.
• Operate mechanical equipment such as tractors and ride on specialist machinery safely and efficiently.
• Utilise hand tools and power tools for various maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist with construction projects related to grounds and pitches.
• Maintain organised work areas, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified deadlines.
• Identify potential issues with mechanical systems and recommend appropriate solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sports ground maintenance, golf course maintenance or related fields.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate equipment associated with the role.
• Proficiency in using tractors, and other specialised equipment safely.
• Knowledge of construction processes related to fine turf and winter sports pitches.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Good physical fitness to undertake manual labour in outdoor conditions.
• Full UK driving licence (necessary) 7.5 licence would be preferred (or willing to do the training).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality. Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
