Job Title: RPA Engineer

Location: National (must be near to one of our Air IT Offices)

Reporting to: Automation Manager

Purpose:

As part of our commitment to delivering innovative and efficient services, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated RPA Engineer to join our growing team. As an RPA Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving process automation initiatives using cutting-edge tools and technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and RMM, to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.

As an RPA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions that optimise manual processes across various departments within our organisation. Your expertise in automation technologies, particularly RPA and RMM, will not only make us more efficient but significantly increase the speed of resolution for incidents and service requests. Moreover, automation will play a crucial role in improving our Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance, reducing human error, and ultimately elevating overall customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support automation workflows using RPA and other automation platforms to streamline repetitive and time-consuming tasks across different business functions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to analyse existing manual processes, identifying areas for automation, and defining automation requirements. Your insights will lead to improved SLA adherence and reduced response times
  • Build and implement end-to-end automation solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and applications.
  • Conduct rigorous testing of automation workflows to ensure accuracy, reliability, and adherence to defined specifications. Thorough testing will result in increased efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Create detailed technical documentation of automation processes, including workflows, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Well-documented processes will facilitate knowledge sharing and contribute to better incident and request management
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as directed to contribute effectively to the continuous improvement of the business and automation platforms
  • Ensure any changes made to the automation platforms follow the change management process, ensuring testing and risk assessment of changes before release
  • Maintain information security by complying with the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and all relevant policies

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Appropriate Microsoft certifications
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Windows client and server scripting knowledge and demonstratable experience
  • PowerShell scripting experience across a large estate
  • Hands-on experience of Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Azure
  • Hands-on operational approach with the willingness to get involved with a range of business activities
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex processes and identify automation opportunities.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Confidence to liaise with a range of stakeholders across the business
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload demonstrating good time management to comply with deadlines
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent research and analyse skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of RPA technologies and tools
  • Prior experience in IT managed services or similar industry
  • Experience in administering and developing an RMM platform
