Your new purpose (in a nutshell)

To create, lead and deliver efficient Testing Services across multiple IT operational systems ensuring high standards of quality throughout. Working in partnership with IT Partners and Business colleagues to shape and implement effective testing strategies, thereby contributing to the successful delivery technology solutions.

You will be accountable for:

The day to day task allocation of testing activities into a central test function.

Developing and leading of a test capability to undertake Integration testing across multiple supplier developments.

Creating an automated regression capability to ensure the continued stability and quality of core functionality stacks.

Creating test strategies and overseeing the planning and execution of testing to ensure delivery of quality solutions.

Ensuring appropriate test resource is in place to facilitate delivery.

Inspiring high levels of performance within the test team.

Supporting Business led User Acceptance Testing activities to ensure changes are accepted as suitable for deployment in a live environment.

Providing expert advice and consultation on all elements of the testing process.

Ensuring testing processes are continually developed to improve project delivery.

Communicating regularly regarding the status of all testing activity with both IT representatives and Senior Stakeholders.

Managing in-house team of test specialists

Developing key testing metrics and measures with suppliers and internal teams to track continued improvement.

Co-ordinate activities with in-country IT and business teams to prepare them & their users for change and be willing to travel overseas as required.

Ensuring the correct balance exists between management, process improvement and execution capability within the test team to meet delivery requirements and team improvement needs.

Ensuring correct levels of tooling exist within the test function with constant reference to ensuring a return on investment against cost, relevance and coverage metrics.

Requirements of the Role

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent level of qualification, preferably in an IT-related discipline
• Hold an Internationally recognised Software Testing certification.

Skills:

• Effective management of delivery risks and issues

• Project and SDLC management

• The ability to deliver to agreed standards in an environment where a number of parties may be shipping software, to be unified through test

• Agile development techniques and Project management (SCRUM, KANBAN etc.)

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with individuals (internal and external) at all levels

• The ability to apply coaching techniques that will lead to increased team and individual performance

• Effective communication skills – including the ability to give feedback, influence and effective presentation skills

• The ability to support people through change

• Use of test management solution, testing harnesses, test automation, JIRA and Confluence

• You will speak fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge:

• You will hold a strong knowledge of testing principles, practices, techniques and tools
• You will understand proficiently, all phases of the project lifecycle
• You will have a modern knowledge of the IT industry and its ways of working, ideally within the financial services

Experience:

• You will be experienced in leading testing of multiple changes in a complex environment, ideally operating in an international environment
• You will have managed external supplier activity

You will have experience of each element of the testing lifecycle including Unit Test, System Test, Integration Testing & User Acceptance Testing

You will be experienced in Agile/incremental delivery testing practices and processes

You will have experience of automated testing tool implementation and utilisation

Leading test teams in a matrix environment

Highly desirable:

• Experience of ERP integration and data migrations in a legacy environment (ideally SAP)
• Experience of testing in a complex integration environment across multiple geographies
