Business Development Manager – Sponsorship Sales (Sustainability Events)
Brighton | Permanent | £45–55k + Commission | Double OTE
My client, a global leader in sustainability and technology-focused events, is seeking a seasoned
Business Development Manager
to drive sponsorship revenue across a portfolio of international summits and media platforms.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven professional with experience selling high-value sponsorships into the B2B events market.
You'll join a dynamic, ambitious team with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and play a key role in shaping the commercial growth of the company's sustainability events portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead sponsorship sales across multiple international sustainability and technology summits.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior-level decision makers across global brands.
- Work closely with the research and production teams to develop compelling value propositions tailored to each event's audience.
- Identify, qualify, and convert high-value prospects through targeted outreach and consultative selling.
- Attend global events and networking opportunities to develop long-term client partnerships.
- Negotiate and close complex sponsorship deals while ensuring seamless delivery of contracted benefits.
- Consistently exceed commercial targets and contribute to ongoing event strategy and development.
Requirements
- Proven track record in
selling sponsorships or exhibition space
within the B2B events or media sector. - Minimum
3+ years' experience
in a senior business development or commercial role. - Demonstrable success managing long sales cycles and closing high-value deals with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to identify and act on new market opportunities.
- Passion for sustainability, technology, and purpose-driven business.
- Willingness to travel internationally to represent the business at industry-leading events.
Desirable
- Understanding of the
B2B conference and sponsorship model
. - Knowledge or networks within the
sustainability, cleantech, or renewable energy
sectors.
