About the role
As our Data Administrator, you'll help keep Origin's systems and data running smoothly day to day. You'll look after the tools we use across the business, keep information tidy and up to date, and support the team with any data or system questions.
It's a hands-on role where you'll learn how different parts of Origin work, from Sales and Finance to Production and Technical, and you'll play your part in helping us stay connected, secure, and well-informed.
What you'll do
- Keep our cloud systems accurate and organised by updating records and checking for errors.
- Monitor data quality and perform basic cleansing and validation.
- Help with setting up, installing, and maintaining software and systems.
- Set up user accounts, access levels, and permissions.
- Keep an eye on system performance and flag or fix issues when they come up.
- Support basic IT and cybersecurity tasks, like updates and checks.
- Be the first point of contact for staff who need help with data or systems.
- Liaise with external partners to support users in finding solutions.
- Maintain clear notes and documentation so others can follow how things work.
- Follow data protection standards, including GDPR.
Who you are
- You like detail and feel proud when things are accurate and well organised.
- You're curious about how systems work and enjoy learning new tools.
- You notice problems and look for practical ways to fix them.
- You're comfortable asking questions and working with different teams.
- You care about values like sustainability, creativity, and community.
What you'll bring
- A data-related qualification, or experience that shows your interest and capability.
- Some exposure to admin, data handling, IT support, or systems work (this could be from a job, placement, or project).
- Confidence using Microsoft 365, especially Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- An interest in SaaS tools and keeping them running well.
- Basic understanding of GDPR and why data privacy matters.
- A willingness to learn more about cloud platforms and APIs.
- Good communication skills and a calm, helpful approach when supporting others.
What success looks like
- Our key systems have clean, reliable data (POS, inventory, roasting, e-commerce).
- Data moves smoothly between systems, helping teams plan well and avoid waste or stock issues.
- You spot patterns or problems early, share them clearly and helpfully, and help others address them.
- Access, security, and documentation are kept tidy and up to date.
Please note: Origin will begin relocating its Roastery production and HQ in early 2026, moving from Porthleven to a new site near Truro and Perranporth, just off the A30. We encourage applicants to keep this in mind when applying.
Ideally, you have a clean driving license or are at least learning to drive, as the new site does not have public transport access.
Working at Origin
- 26 days' holiday, including your birthday off, plus flexible bank holidays
- Unlimited coffee and discounts on merchandise and partner products
- B Corp certified and proudly independent
- People-first culture with meaningful, values-led work
- SCA training and learning opportunities for everyone
- Enhanced family leave, sick pay, period leave, and personal days
