Warehouse Operative:

To work as part of the Warehouse team to help achieve the daily warehouse plan whilst adhering to procedures, rules and processes set out by Warehouse management and other key functions.

70% of this job will require dealing with customers, utilising a computer and telephone, while 30% will involve picking orders and FLT driving. Therefore the successful applicatant must have a good standard of spoken English and be able to confidently communicate over the phone with Customers.

To work in a safe and time effective manner in accordance with health and safety standards and ensuring food safety, hygiene and quality standards are achieved at all times.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

Warehouse

• Liaising with Customers to ensure timely delivery and correct orders.
• Unload delivery vehicles. For this purpose, up to date counterbalance and reach truck license's must be maintained.
• Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, ensure all goods delivered to the warehouse are routinely checked to verify that the quantity received matches the delivery documentation.
• To note the delivery documentation with any discrepancies, damages and quality issues, ensuring that only goods fit for purpose are receipted.
• Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, ensure goods received are transferred to their designated storage areas and stowed in a manner which facilitates good stock rotation and stock is indeed rotated.
• Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, ensure stocks are stored in a safe manner with due regard to racking loads and evacuation routes.
• Check the documentation for the load is accurate and complete.
• Ensure that the designated load is delivered to the correct delivery point.
• Obtain proof of delivery and return.
• Adhere to delivery site rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure goods collected are checked and verified to the documentation. Any discrepancies/damages to be noted before signature.
• Return the goods to the factory and deliver to the appropriate area.
• To ensure that the FLT daily check sheet is carried out.

Hours of work- 3 on, 1 off-3 on, 7off from 06.30 am-7 pm or Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 5pm (however flexibility around core working hours is essential)

Summary

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be essential in ensuring efficient materials handling and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, your core skills in warehouse operations will be complemented by your premium expertise in forklift operation and warehouse management systems. You will be responsible for stocking, picking and packing, as well as shipping and receiving goods. Qualifications

• Proven experience in warehouse operations and materials handling
• Good computer skills
• Good English skills
• Proficient in forklift operation and knowledgeable in warehouse management systems
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to perform heavy lifting
• Experience with stocking, picking & packing, and shipping & receiving
• Competent in loading and unloading goods, including familiarity with AS400 systems
