The Role
At Papier, the Senior Print Designer will play a leading role in shaping our print design identity through innovative and inspiring print design. You'll be responsible for researching, conceptualising, and developing trend-setting prints that align with our creative vision and push the boundaries of contemporary design. With a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of originality, you'll continuously generate fresh ideas that evolve and elevate the Papier brand. Technical expertise is key, you'll create both repeat and engineered prints to precise product specifications, demonstrating advanced proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator. Collaborating closely with the CCO and design leads, you'll help define and refine Papier's in-house design handwriting, contributing to our evolution into a global stationery and lifestyle brand. This role is a 12 month FTC covering a maternity leave.
What you'll do
- Deliver trend-defining print designs within a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of projects and ensuring all creative milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
- Research and interpret emerging trends, translating cultural, artistic, and design influences into original print concepts that reflect Papier's aesthetic and brand vision.
- Produce and present seasonal print directions to cross-functional teams including Creative, Commercial, and Brand, ensuring a cohesive and strategically aligned design narrative across collections.
- Collaborate with fellow designers and key departments throughout the creative process to refine ideas, share feedback, and deliver exceptional print outcomes that meet design and production standards.
- Lead conceptual development, from mood boards and initial sketches to final designs, inspiring innovation and ensuring each collection tells a clear and distinctive visual story.
- Oversee the consistency and technical accuracy of all print collections ensuring colour, scale, and repeat are flawless and production-ready, including managing and reviewing work from freelance designers.
