Shape standards, support success, and build lasting relationships.
We're looking for an experienced Compliance Development Manager (CDM) with a strong mortgage background to join our team at Stonebridge — one of the UK's leading mortgage and protection networks.
This is a regional, field-based role, best suited to candidates located in Bristol, Bath or Gloucester, for visiting firms up and down the M4 corridor, to deliver hands-on compliance support, guidance, and development. You'll work directly with professional mortgage and protection advisers, helping them maintain excellence in regulatory compliance, advice quality, and client outcomes.
About Stonebridge
At Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd, we're one of the UK's leading mortgage and protection networks, supporting over 1,300 mortgage and protection advisers nationwide.
We deliver exceptional support, systems, and regulatory expertise, all underpinned by a collaborative and people-focused culture. Our success comes from our people — their insight, professionalism, and drive to make things better, dare to be different, and most importantly make our customers lives easier.
Our benefits
At Stonebridge, we believe great work deserves great rewards. You'll enjoy:
- A great company culture built on openness, collaboration, and support.
- Competitive salary and performance-related bonus (bonus is non-contractual).
- £350 per month car allowance
- 22 days annual leave plus your birthday off, and up to 3 additional days for length of service.
- Company pension with optional matched contributions up to 1.5%.
- Flexibility to work from home.
- 2 volunteering days and 1 team volunteering day each year.
- 2 half-days of paid 'me time' to support mental and physical wellbeing.
- Employee engagement activities, recognition schemes, and retail discounts.
- Salary sacrifice schemes (home tech, cycle to work, pension).
- Gym subsidy, company sick pay, and EAP support.
- Option to buy/sell up to 5 extra days' holiday.
- £500 employee referral scheme.
- Death in service cover and critical illness cover.
Your Role
As a Compliance Development Manager, you'll play a key part in ensuring our appointed representative (AR) firms continue to meet the highest regulatory and professional standards.
You'll:
- Conduct compliance support visits for AR firms and advisers
- Deliver engaging induction modules for new AR firms and advisers
- Maintain up-to-date compliance records and weekly MI reports
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and ensure firms remain compliant
- Provide practical support and constructive feedback to help advisers improve
- Build trusted relationships and foster a culture of continuous improvement
You'll also collaborate with internal teams and occasionally support wider business initiatives — helping Stonebridge deliver outstanding compliance and adviser support nationwide.
About You
You'll bring professionalism, confidence, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous mortgage experience (as an Adviser, Relationship Manager, or in a similar role)
- Strong understanding of mortgage and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A coaching and development mindset
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Confidence in producing reports and interpreting MI
- Strong organisation and travel planning skills
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel with occasional overnight stays
You must also be able to meet pre-employment screening requirements (right to work, ID, referencing, credit and DBS checks, AML and sanctions).
Diversity & Inclusion
Different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences make us stronger.
We welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of age, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, or previous convictions.
If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let our Recruitment Team know — we'll be happy to help.
