Operations and Warehouse Supervisor

We are seeking a pro-active and enthusiastic individual to join the removals team based at our warehouse in Redditch. Working closely with the branch manager to control and maintain the onsite warehouse activities and assist with the operational planning and support of the removal's teams.

Most duties will be carried out working within the warehouse and branch office, there will be some administration responsibilities, and you will need to be computer literate with a good standard of written English. Occasional requirement to join the removals teams off site to cover unforeseen absence. Full training will be given across all aspects of the role.

You will have a forklift reach truck license (it can be expired as we can refresh if necessary) and preferably experience within the removal industry or worked in a similar role

What will you do?

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, making the most efficient use of resources available.

• Maintain the warehouse and site security, whilst allowing for a practical and safe working environment

• Ensure the workplace's health and safety requirements are met and undertake audits and inspections in line with company policy.

• Maintain housekeeping of the warehouse and site in a clean, tidy and efficient manner to meet the company's standards and industry guidelines.

• Ensure that all warehouse activities are closely supervised, managed and any issues immediately addressed, reported or escalated.

• Ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained for the movement of all goods in to and out of the Redditch site to include - receipt of goods in; storage records; retrieval and timely delivery of goods for collection/onward delivery; shipment loading & transferring; document recording and general data entry

• Record and report to the branch management any anomalies of goods in and out of the site.

• Preparing and managing daily operations and movement of goods for Operational Staff and maintaining our in-house storage system

• Organise the on-site storage of containers and household goods in accordance with company standards, making the best and most efficient use of space, taking into account customer, company, and health & safety requirements.

• Manage stock control of packing materials to meet anticipated demand within the budgeted cash flow allowances ensuring the re-use/recycling of materials in line with company environmental policies

• Develop staff skills as required and promote constant motivation among staff to strive for an efficient and effective team

• In addition to your normal duties you may be required to undertake other duties in line with the needs of the business and flexibility should be recognised as paramount for this role

The ideal candidate will have

• Experience of the removals industry or experience gained within warehouse/operations supervision/team leader role

• Exceptional planning skills and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise various tasks

• Strong time management skills

• Understanding of transport operations

• Good verbal and written communication skills are required as you will be liaising with customers, suppliers and other departments

• Experience of delivering both excellent customer service and client satisfaction

• Ability to analysis issues and provide effective solutions

• Excellent IT knowledge, to include accuracy and attention to detail

• Sound knowledge of health and safety and drivers' compliance legislation

• Team building skills alongside the ability to give clear direction and delegate confidently

• A good team member who can also work using own initiative

• A flexible and can-do attitude

We offer a salary of £30, £32,000.00 per year (dependent on experience), 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, a comfortable uniform, company pension scheme and potential overtime opportunities.
