Job description

The Gait Clinic is a Movement health Clinic in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are currently looking for a really friendly, outgoing, flexible and dynamic person to join this small team on a job share basis.

The Gait Clinic is an established Podiatry Business , with Gait Analysis, Strength and conditioning, Retail, Orthotics and footwear to make a comprehensive movement health centre.

Job Description

Job Title: Retail Sales, Reception and Clinical Assistant . Part time

Location: 1a-1b St Thomas street, newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4LE

Reports to: David Eardley

Hours :

17 to 26 hrs per week. Typically 2 0r3 per week, alternating. Usual hours will be Monday to Wednesday but Saturdays will be required from time to time. We reserve the right to shorten hours by a maximum of 4 hours if low bookings or holidays demand this ( rare).

Rate : £12.55 PH

Job Purpose: To assist in the profitable running of The Gait Clinic from the reception, retail and clinical support perspective.

Responsibilities and Duties

Customer facing:

Serve customers, manage queries and give sales advice over the phone or face to face

Measure and advise in the fitting of footwear, insoles and related products.

Answer the telephone and book appointments.

Escort patients in and out of the clinic rooms and assist in the preparation of the patient for treatment.

Assisting in minor surgery as required

Administration

dministration duties such as typing letters, answering online enquires including live chat.

Process the decontamination of surgical instruments.

Ensure confidentiality of company and patient information at all times.

Cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications

Math and English to GCSE standard or equivalent

Essential Skills.

Customer Services experience, including retail or clinical

Excellent verbal communication skills for dealing with customers, ability to listen and empathise is important..

Good standard of written skills for note taking and filing.

Confident with IT including Microsoft word.

Handling files and computer storage folders. Must be able to book clinic onto system. Training will be given.

Personal qualities.

Friendly and approachable.

Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.

Ability to contribute to a team.

Positive and proactive approach to work

Committed to providing a good customer service experience

Flexibility

Be able to extend working hours to cover full time staffs holidays and sickness, this may include working into early evening and weekends

Desirable Skills

Customer Services experience within retail or some retail experience.

Experience within a medical or similar environment.

Experience in patient contact.

Experience of online sales or similar

Knowledge gained in a similar field, such as podiatry, orthotics, physiotherapy or clinical.

Knowledge of dealing with confidential patient information.

Quick Learner, able to pick up new tasks.

Be willing to train in the area of Foot Health.

Be willing to assist in clinics; including minor surgery

Train in hands on tasks as a clinical assistant
