We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of multiple concurrent projects, including both internally and externally funded development programmes. This role involves managing projects from initial planning, through the gated development process, and into production.

As the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Project Manager will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

This position works cross-functionally across the organisation and plays a critical role in supporting overall business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver projects end-to-end, applying the most appropriate project management methodologies and adhering to company processes.
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to project delivery teams.
  • Deliver projects in accordance with agreed proposals, budgets, timescales and quality expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing accurate updates and managing expectations effectively.
  • Manage project budgets, including labour, materials and revenue forecasting.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Maintain strong project governance across the assigned project portfolio.
  • Proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions where required.

Essential

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven risk management capability.
  • Experience creating and managing project schedules.
  • Proficiency with project management tools.
  • Ability to adapt to different project management methodologies.
  • Financial literacy.

Experience

Essential

  • Delivering full project lifecycle within Defence Engineering (Hardware)
  • Minimum of 5 years' project management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Desirable

  • Experience with hardware development or delivery projects.
  • NPI project experience.
  • Bid support experience.
