Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

In this dynamic position, you'll manage high-value settlements within strict currency cut-off times, perform post-settlement reconciliations across Intellimatch environments, and handle breaks and exceptions with precision. You'll also support critical risk, control, and regulatory requirements while driving change initiatives and delivering lean efficiencies that enhance business performance.

About DFX:

Derivative and Foreign exchange settlements is a cross-asset class function responsible for ensuring that all Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity, Treasury and Foreign Exchange Derivatives are controlled and settled in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The department supports a broad range of operational services across the OTC trade lifecycle including trade lifecycle management, affirmation, confirmation, nostro and brokerage reconciliation as well as strategic product support.

To be successful as a DFX Settlements Analyst, you should have:

  • Ability to work under pressure, comfortable managing high volumes of complex settlements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience identifying, escalating, and reporting risks and issues.

  • Ability to understand and analyse complex problems and provide effective tactical and strategic solutions.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Settlements experience.

  • Financial Services experience.

  • High level understanding of Settlements, reconciliations, and operations trade lifecycle.

  • Personable and Professional Approach – Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Adaptability to evolving processes and priorities.
