Frontend Application Architect (React Native)

About the role:

At Square Health, we are looking for a Frontend Application Architect with deep expertise in React Native to join our Architecture Team.

This role will focus on defining, standardising and embedding best practices for mobile app development across our enterprise platform. Working closely with our enterprise architects, solution designers and delivery teams, you will play a key role in shaping the frontend and mobile architecture strategy for our next generation of digital health applications.

We already have a well-established offshore development team managing day-to-day application delivery and are seeking to bolster this area with a UK based application architect who can bridge the technical gap, provide expert guidance, elevate the overall quality, performance and consistency of our frontend applications.

This is both a hands-on and strategic role ideal for someone passionate about modern frontend architecture and scalable React Native solutions.

What you will be doing;

Define and document frontend and mobile architecture standards, including coding conventions, design patterns and testing frameworks.

Provide architectural oversight and mentoring to offshore and UK based development teams.

Collaborate closely with Product, UX and backend teams to deliver cohesive, performant and maintainable code.

Conduct regular code and architectural reviews, ensuring alignment with our engineering principles and platform standards.

Support the design and optimisation of automated builds, test and release pipelines. For example Azure DevOps or Bitrise.

Partner with Solution Architects to ensure mobile and web components integrate seamlessly into the wider Square Health ecosystem.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on code quality, scalability, security and user experience.

Stay current with emerging technologies and tools, advising the business on future opportunities to evolve our frontend platform.

What we are looking for:

A person with proven experience as a Frontend Application Architect.

Strong hands-on expertise in:

  • React Native
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • and RESTful API integration
  • Automated deployments through CI\CD. For example Azure Devops or Bitrise
  • Testing frameworks

Deep understanding of mobile app architecture.

Experience with App Store and Google Play deployment pipelines and CI/CD automation.

Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and secure release processes.

Ability to mentor engineers, review complex pull requests and embed development standards across distributed teams.

Strong knowledge of frontend security principles, responsive design and cross-platform performance tuning.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical direction and stakeholder understanding.

Experience in agile software development and cross-functional team environments and deliveries.
