Job Description
We're recruiting for a Payroll Governance and Compliance Manager to join us. We're offering a competitive base salary.

As a Payroll Governance and Compliance Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely annuitant payments, maintaining robust controls, and reducing risk across our payroll operations. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by safeguarding customer outcomes and supporting compliance excellence.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing auditing of annuitant payments and reporting on payroll health from a compliance and risk perspective
- Developing frameworks of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure payroll integrity
- Embedding PAYE compliance and Conduct Risk principles into daily operations
- Coordinating actions and analysis for payroll risk events from identification through to closure
- Attending regulatory and industry forums and embedding best practice into team processes
- Delivering training and sharing knowledge to maintain high standards of service and quality
- Managing transaction monitoring and ensuring actions are agreed, tracked, and reported
- Leading, motivating, and developing team members to maximise performance
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and pensions payroll legislation
- Strong understanding of risk management, governance, and FCA regulations
- Experience in auditing, compliance reviews, and managing large payrolls
- Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills
- Ability to research and interpret complex legislation
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving
