About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Solar System Survey Engineer to join our growing renewable energy team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both solar site surveys and installation, with a strong understanding of residential solar energy systems and UK compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site surveys at customer homes to assess suitability for solar system installation.
- Prepare and deliver detailed survey reports to the Head Engineer for project design and planning.
- Identify and plan the layout for scaffolding, cable routing, battery and inverter placement, and other key installation components.
- Create and maintain accurate material and equipment lists based on site conditions.
- Ensure all survey data supports safe, compliant, and efficient installation practices.
- Coordinate with installation and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Survey Engineer in the UK with Octopus Energy, OVO, Tomato Energy, or other recognized solar installation companies.
- At least 1 year of hands-on solar system installation experience.
- Solid understanding of residential electrical systems and solar design principles.
- Strong problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Based in or able to travel within the Greater London area.
- Full UK driving licence.
