Compliance Officer

The Compliance Officer will play a key supporting role in ensuring the organisation adheres to all relevant legal standards, industry regulations, and internal policies. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Officer, this role is responsible for assisting in the implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks, supporting audits, and ensuring regulatory accreditations are maintained. The Compliance Officer will collaborate with various teams to promote a culture of compliance and ethical business practices.
Key responsibilities:
Compliance management and reporting
- Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and manufacturer/automotive industry requirements.
- Support audits, certifications, and renewals, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all regulatory obligations.
- Conduct compliance checks and risk assessments, flagging potential issues to the Senior Compliance Officer and suggesting mitigation strategies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and provide updates to internal teams on necessary policy or procedural adjustments.
- Assist in responding to internal and external compliance inquiries, ensuring stakeholders receive accurate and timely support.
- Maintain and support current accreditations: ISO 27701, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, TISAX
Regulatory and legal compliance
- Support the Senior Compliance Officer in liaising with external regulators and certification bodies, including ISO auditors and the SIA.
- Assist in incident investigations and reporting, ensuring compliance with UK legal frameworks and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to GDPR requirements in data handling and processing, providing guidance where necessary.
- Work with legal teams and external partners to address compliance-related issues as required.
Process optimisation and risk management
- Help streamline compliance processes and support initiatives to reduce manual workloads and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure alignment with compliance requirements across operations, ensuring punctual completion of the said requirements by liaising with HR, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in fraud prevention efforts and support ethical business practices in line with the company's risk management framework.
Stakeholder engagement and training
- Support compliance training initiatives by helping to develop materials and conduct awareness sessions for employees.
- Act as a point of contact for internal teams, providing compliance-related advice and guidance., whilst escalating any complex queries and / or issues to the Senior Compliance Officer.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and external partners to address compliance matters proactively.
