We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team and help deliver projects across our portfolio from major capital investments to complex cyber assurance initiatives.

Working alongside experienced Project and Programme Managers, you'll support the coordination, reporting, and control of projects while developing the confidence and capability to lead your own workstreams. What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
Support Project and Programme Managers in the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects across the capital, operational, and cyber assurance portfolios.

Develop and maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, risk registers, decision logs, and progress reports.

Articulate process, system, and data requirements, ensuring all inputs are clearly documented, validated, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.

Gather and analyse data to support business cases, track delivery performance, and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve outcomes.

Coordinate the preparation of project reports and dashboards for governance boards, audits, and regulatory submissions.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Asset Management, IT, Cyber, and external delivery partners to ensure alignment of objectives and smooth project delivery.

Act as a point of contact for internal teams, providing proactive support to investigate issues, assess impacts, and identify corrective actions.

Contribute to project governance activities, including risk and issue management, change control, and compliance with PMO processes and standards.

Support business change and communications activities, helping stakeholders understand project objectives, impacts, and timelines.

Collaborate with contractors and framework partners, attending regular progress meetings and capturing key actions, updates, and performance data.

Assist in the administration of contracts through systems such as Cemar, including raising and tracking Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.

Compile and maintain accurate contract performance data and financial tracking spreadsheets to support effective decision-making.

Promote best practice and continuous improvement within the Programme Management Office, contributing to the evolution of templates, tools, and delivery processes.

What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
Demonstrable experience supporting the delivery of projects or programmes within a structured governance framework.

Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Proven ability to gather, interpret, and present data to support business decisions and performance reporting.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams).

A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
