About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of SEO / Organic Search to lead and grow our organic performance function. This role requires a proven leader with digital agency experience, strong expertise in content led SEO, technical SEO, and digital PR, and the ability to drive measurable results for clients across diverse industries.

You will be responsible for setting the vision for our SEO offering, managing and mentoring a high performing team, and ensuring our clients' organic strategies deliver long term growth. This is both a strategic and hands on role, balancing leadership, client engagement, and deep subject matter expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and lead the agency's SEO and organic growth strategy across technical SEO, content marketing, and digital PR.
  • Act as a senior advisor to clients, translating business goals into effective organic search strategies.
  • Oversee and continuously improve internal processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Lead key client relationships, ensuring SEO and content strategies align with wider digital campaigns.
  • Present strategies, insights, and results to senior client stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Drive innovation in organic search offerings, staying ahead of industry trends and algorithm updates.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the SEO and digital PR teams.
  • Foster collaboration between SEO, content, PR, paid media, and wider digital teams.
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management of the organic team.
  • Oversee all aspects of organic performance delivery: technical SEO, on-site and off-site optimisation, content SEO, and digital PR campaigns.
  • Ensure data driven decision making through analytics, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Champion creativity in organic strategies, with a strong focus on content and earned media.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in a senior SEO leadership role, ideally within a digital agency environment.
  • Expertise in 
    technical SEO, content strategy, and digital PR
    .
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in developing organic strategies that deliver ROI.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present to C-level executives.
  • Experience managing and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, GA4).
  • Knowledge of broader digital marketing channels and how SEO integrates with them.
