About the Role

We're looking for a caring and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bexhill .

You'll work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to engage in learning, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a real difference in young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND (including ASD, ADHD, speech & language, and SEMH needs).
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Implement support strategies outlined in EHCPs and IEPs.
  • Encourage independence, inclusion, and positive behaviour.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENDCo.
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in a school or similar setting).
  • Patient, reliable, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service is essential.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a mainstream or special school environment.
