About Us

China Cottage Care Home is a warm and welcoming 33-bed residential care home situated in Carcroft, Doncaster. We are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a supportive and homely environment. We are now seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team.

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting residents with their daily needs, supervising the care team, administering medication, and ensuring that high standards of care are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer medication
  • Assist residents with their personal care
  • Support the development and implementation of individualised care plans
  • Lead and supervise junior staff, providing guidance and support
  • Ensure care plans, records, and documentation are completed accurately and promptly
  • Use electronic care planning system (Person Centred Software - PCS)
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
  • Promote a safe, caring, and supportive environment for all residents
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills in senior care

Requirements

  • Experience in administering medication
  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or similar role
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support care staff
  • Experience with PCS (Person Centred Software) is beneficial but not required — training will be provided
  • Reliable, organised, and committed to high-quality care
