Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Assistant People Business Partner to support our human resources initiatives and foster a positive, productive workplace environment. Assistant People Business Partners (APBP) are aligned to a nominated Care Group and/or Directorate/s that they directly provide services to, whilst reporting into the People Business Partner and being a core member of the overall People Partnering Team within the People Directorate. The APBP will work closely with the People Business Partner to support achievement of the Trust's people strategy and vision. The post holder will provide a high quality and timely HR advisory service through expert advice on a full range of employment issues and workforce matters.

Duties

  • Develop an understanding of the Trust's vision and objectives and the nominated Care Group and/or Directorate/s business and its strategic objectives. Understand how the role can support the achievement of goals and objectives, and support the PBP to monitor success and minimise People risks.
  • Support the PBP with contributing to the annual planning process, providing workforce figures and reports, activity data and other related information as required, including liaising with the Workforce Transformation Team and People/OD/ER Leadership Team and colleagues as necessary.
  • Support managers with the early stages of planning and organising workforce change projects, providing signposting and interpretation of relevant policies and referring managers to the ER team in a timely manner for support with developing formal business cases and taking forward organisational change processes and programmes.
  • Negotiate and support decision-making outcomes for sensitive, highly complex workforce issues within the remit, using coaching skills as necessary.
  • 5Proactively build excellent and effective relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation, which will include constructive and professional challenge regarding a broad range of issues.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with the nominated Care Group and/or Directorate/s Leadership team and senior managers, gaining a thorough understanding of the services, plans and priorities and ensuring appropriate levels of involvement are established and maintained.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team
  • Effective coaching, negotiating, listening, persuading and influencing skills
  • Strong conflict management skills

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £23.52 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 37.5 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Nottingham NG5 1PH
