Achieve your ambitions – join us at JLL Role PurposeThe HSSE Director will manage a small HSSE team supporting one of our leading Life Sciences accounts in EMEA, with primary responsibility for leading HSSE operations. The HSSE Director will be accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of JLL's HSSE management systems at client manufacturing sites across EMEA.The role holder will provide guidance, identify resources and equipment necessary to implement HSSE management systems and compliance programs related to JLL scope of work at client locations. The HSSE Director will advise JLL account teams on HSSE issues, assist with the evaluation of health and safety hazards and environmental impacts, lead accident investigations, and ensure JLL compliance with all HSSE regulatory and client requirements.The HSSE Director must be visible and proactive with colleagues, contractors and clients, develop a strong culture of health, safety & environmental management to deliver world class HSSE results. As a senior member of the Workplace Management HSSE function in EMEA, they will support the implementation of the JLL HSSE strategy.The role will report directly to the JLL Workplace Management EMEA HSSE Lead, with dotted line reporting to relevant Account Directors and close collaboration with other Life Sciences HSSE colleagues.This is a part-time role at 28 hours per week (3.5 days). We support flexible working arrangements for this position.What this job involvesHSSE Leadership & Management Responsibilities:Lead the account in EMEA, aligning activities across 7 sitesManage the account HSSE team (2 HSSE Managers)Support site teams and Account Leadership in all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) management topics across assigned accountsWork with Account Teams and Life Sciences HSSE teams to establish performance goals and review performance against those goalsImplement qualification programs to manage JLL service partners under the JLL scope of workProvide expert advice and coaching to colleagues, contractors, and team members on HSSE management best practices Performance & Compliance:Support completion of risk assessments and operation of permit to work systemsImplement inspection and audit programmes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvementAssist account teams with accident investigation processes, including identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actionsEnsure tracking and reporting of HSSE metrics and measure performance against KPIsEnsure required records are available for audit according to regulatory, client and JLL requirements Training & Culture Development:Identify training requirements and coordinate training sessions for HSSE regulatory and client-specific trainingMaintain collaborative partnerships with client EHS contactsPromote the "One Team S.A.F.E.R Together" program to foster a strong safety culture To apply you need to haveExperienceDegree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, engineering, sciences, or related subject and/or appropriate recognized professional HSSE qualifications or experienceMinimum 7 years of experience in HSSE management, preferably in facilities management, consulting or project management, with demonstrated leadership experienceExperience in GxP regulated environments, particularly in Pharmaceuticals and/or Medical Devices is highly desirableExperience working in manufacturing environments is essentialExperience in implementation of environmental, health and safety management systems and processesSuccess working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectivesWillingness to maintain continuous professional developmentMust be able to travel within Europe as required (20-25% of time)Must speak fluent English; additional European languages are an advantageOther personal characteristicsPositive, proactive, energetic approach to health and safety managementEvidence of strong interpersonal skills to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management and to foster effective working relations with a wide range of senior internal, client and external contactsKnowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 and 14001 management systemsStrong cultural awareness and unwavering ethical standardsUnderstands how to be effective operating across geographies and culturesExcellent written and oral communication skills and appropriate ability to coach and educate at site level What you can expect from usYou'll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture.
