Supported and Inclusive Learning are looking to recruit a Senior Learning Support worker to work as part of a dynamic, inclusive team here at Leicester College. We have an exciting opportunity for a new senior position in a brand-new day provision. This role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping the service and contributing to its day-to-day operations.

The role of Senior Learning Support Worker is to oversee and supervise the day to day activities of a team of Learning Support Workers. They provide a range of learning support and personal assistance to students who have learning support needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities or mental health needs, who are on the Supported Learning courses within the College. They will also manage the staff allocation and rotas, ensuring individual student support is in place and providing cover as necessary.

We are looking for applicants who understand the role of support, have a commitment to enabling students and developing their communication and independence skills. You will be highly motivated, flexible, able to work as a team and use your own initiative. You will have good communication skills to work with teachers and the Learning Support Workers.

The successful applicant will:

• Hold or be willing to work towards Level 2 English and maths qualification or equivalent GCSE Grade C and above or GCSE grade 4 or above
• Hold or be willing to work towards a Learning Support or Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification.
• Educated to Level 3 or equivalent
