We are looking for a Senior Supply Planner to join our Nuneaton-based Supply Chain team. At PROPER SNACKS, the Supply Chain team plays a crucial role in ensuring that everything flows smoothly from raw materials to finished products reaching our customers.
The Person:
This person will demonstrate strong organisational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. They will be highly collaborative working closely with the Commercial, Operations and Finance teams. They must be adatable, able to respond quickly to changes in demand or supply disruptions, and commercially aware, balancing cost efficiency with quality and service. They will be data driven, using forecasting and inventory tools to make informed decisions. They will be aligned with and role model our values: Be builder. Dream bigger. Seriously fun.
The Role:
The Senior Supply Planner is responsible for developing and executing supply plans that balance demand, inventory, and production capacity to ensure optimal product availability and service levels. This role plays a critical part in driving supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting customer service excellence in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Responsibilities:
Supply Planning:
Develop and maintain rolling supply plans across multiple categories and sites, aligning with demand forecasts and commercial priorities.
Manage medium-to-long term capacity planning, considering constraints in production, warehousing, and suppliers.
• Ensure alignment of supply plans with production scheduling, procurement, and logistics.
• Conduct scenario planning and risk analysis to mitigate supply disruptions.
Assist production planners in creating production schedules on a weekly basis.
Attend Daily and Weekly planning meetings.
Inventory & Stock Management:
Optimise finished goods and raw material inventory levels to balance service, cost and labour.
Monitor stock health (e.g., slow-moving, short-dated, excess and obsolescence) and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with demand planners to improve forecast accuracy and inventory planning.
Track and report on key metrics such as stock cover, service levels, and inventory levels at 3PL sites.
Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement and Material planners to manage supplier performance, lead times, and capacity.
Partner with commercial, finance, and operations teams to ensure supply plans support business objectives.
Provide clear communication of supply risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
Act as the escalation point for supply-related issues impacting customer service.
Performance & Continuous Improvement:
Monitor supply planning KPIs and deliver against targets (e.g., OTIF, inventory accuracy, stock availability).
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, systems, and data accuracy.
Contribute to supply chain improvement projects.
Support sustainability and cost-saving initiatives within the supply chain.
Requirements:
Experienced in production planning management, ideally within a food industry or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. Experience in production scheduling and inventory management.
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge and experience of planning and scheduling software tools (e.g., APS, MRP, Demand Planning Tools). This is not essential.
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with different departments and stakeholders.
High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
