Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Breakfast Cook. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and culinary arts, with a focus on delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety within a professional kitchen setting. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring cleanliness and organisation, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. The hours are on a Saturday and Sunday morning with additional hours available if required. Breakfast items will be prepared and cooked for pick up orders only.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking of various dishes according to established recipes and standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and best practices
  • Assist with meal assembly and presentation to ensure visual appeal and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
  • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
  • Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks
  • Assist with inventory management by organising supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and culinary principles
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Previous experience in serving or restaurant roles is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new recipes, procedures, and kitchen equipment
