As the Public Programming Manager at RHS Rosemoor, you will play a key role in engaging audiences at RHS Rosemoor with RHS content, such as plants, gardens, gardening and growing, in ways that are exciting and inspiring, and that attract audiences to the garden. You will lead the creation, planning and operational delivery of Public Programming activities at the garden, such as installations, family activities, and plant events and festivals, and lead and motivate Rosemoor's Public Programming team.
As the Programming Manager, you are audience-focused in your approach and interested in finding new and interesting ways to share our stories and content with audiences through the activities we deliver.
You will
• have a track record of creating and delivering content-focused programming and experiences within gardens, museums, arts, attractions or other similar settings. This could include exhibitions, events, festivals, installations and family activities.
• be passionate about engaging non-specialist audiences with specialist topics and content, and understand the needs and motivations of different audiences.
• be an experienced people manager who enjoys inspiring and motivating creative teams.
• have excellent people skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• be experienced in planning and monitoring budgets.
• have outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.
• have a good understanding of Health and Safety legislation in respect of public events and programming.
• ideally also have a passion for plants, growing and gardening.
In this role, you will develop and deliver events and programmes planned for 2026, and also plan events and activities for 2027, working in close collaboration with the RHS-wide Public Engagement team and colleagues at RHS Rosemoor, including Rosemoor's Head of Site. 2 As the Public Programming Manager, you are responsible for planning and monitoring Rosemoor's Public Programming budget, including income generating activities, as well as ensuring the Health and Safety of Rosemoor's Public Programming activities.
You will act as Duty Manager at RHS Rosemoor on a rota basis and support colleagues in the running of the garden as and when needed. This role is based on site at Rosemoor because of the site-focused nature of the role's work, although some home-working days will be possible.
